For sale is a Seiko 6138-0040 brown Rootbeer Bullhead vintage chronograph from 1977. Original JDM model in excellent condition, with Kanji and English day wheel. The 6138 watches were the followup to the famed 6139, and added hacking and manual winding features, and were made up to 1979. On its original bracelet. Purchased from well known Seiko collector and seller in UK, serviced before I bought it in UK. The Seiko Bullhead is a large watch with pushers on top, hence the name. The design was considered a drivers watch with slight tilt at top for motorsport visibility. This is a very nice example in excellent condition and recently serviced. Worn a couple of times in my possession last 2 years. In addition to photos posted, I have several videos from original seller which are available on request by email which are quite good to further document condition of the watch. Dial: Rootbeer dark red Speedtimer, day date function English/Kanji, dial is in excellent condition with no visible flaws. Text and all markings clear and intact. The JDM versions are no lume with white hands and indices. All in original excellent condition. Movement: 6138B 21 jewel, manufactured November 1977. Keeps good time and all functions working well. Serviced prior to my 2022 purchase from well known Seiko seller in UK. Case: Large 44 x 47.5 stainless steel with screw down cade caseback, good condition showing some wear but no significant dings or damage. I do not think it has been polished. Bezel: Good original condition some marks from wear no significant damage or chips. Serial number: 7N1488, from November 1977 Crown and pushers: Original, functioning well- winding, setting, quick set. Chrono works well, reset is slightly to right watchmaker has serviced and says its working properly, but likely "came that way". It resets to same position without variability.
