·Hi All
I’m selling my Seiko Sports 5 Speedtimer Kakume. It’s the JDM model with the date wheel in Kanji and English. So this is a very sought after version of a very sort after model.
The standard export version of this Watch is fantastic with its bright blue dial with Square chrono Sub dials , but I think that the JDM version is particularly nice as it’s marked 5 Sports Speedtimer and has silver coloured metal hands.
There are plenty of great articles about these watches on Worn and Wound, Fratellowatches or just try googling!
Movement - the legendary 6138 - hacking, quickset date, automatic with handwinding too
Case- 43mm diameter - a few scratches but in really good original condition. All nice bevels and finishes in place. Nice and Sharp
Dial - Great Condition, beautiful. Sub dials great too. Chrono Hand colour is nice and bright.
Bezel- no major dings, great condition
Crystal - Hardlex and in great condition
Functions- All work as they should and chrono resets nicely.
Service History - unknown, timekeeping seems accurate though
Age- Serial No dates the Watch to November 75
Bracelet - this is aftermarket and not the original Seiko 5 Sports Bracelet, which are like Hens Teeth. Bracelet has spare links and plenty of adjustability. Would look really great on a nice Heuerville !
I see a lot of these on eBay which are polished to within an inch of their lives, with aftermarket dials and hands. This is as original as I’ve seen, excepting the bracelet! These are beautiful watches and must be in the Top 5 “most collectible Vintage Seikos”.
Please feel free let me know if you’ve any questions, i’ll do my best to answer.
The photos- have a good look, on and off wrist (probably too many, sorry!)
I’ve a few references here on OF, so please take a look. I try to operate with integrity in whatever I do.
I’m based in the U.K., in between Reading and Oxford
Price- £800 net to me. We can talk about the details, shipping, method of payment etc.
