·I have really come to appreciate the watches that Seiko made to commemorate the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, including the world timer and the chronograph, and I thought I would start this thread to share my 45899 chronographs and encourage members to show their monopusher photos.
The original chronograph had reference 45899 and came in two dial colors, silver and charcoal with lumed hands and dial. Both had a delicate Bakelite bezel and an Olympic torch case-back. These were mostly made in 1964. In subsequent years, other variations were produced, with 5717 / 5719 references, subtle dial differences, and different bezels and case-backs. I find these to be very appealing and wearable watches. The case is 37mm in diameter and the dial is very simple and clean. There is no running seconds hand or sundials. Minutes are counted by rotating the bezel to align with the minute hand.
