I bet the spring on the left snapped out of the channel in back that each spring uses for leverage.

It may be. It’s “back” in the channel now, if so, but torqued in the wrong axis now, apparently.

How many different references does this clasp has?! Is there a list of what's original and what's a replacement part?
What does the number in the circle mean?

Anyway, as Archer said here and to me in private, replacement parts for this clasp do not exist therefore I don't think it can be fixed.
I think the only way to maybe fix it will involve taking out the center rod on which the spring lie and that may just ruin the part anyway.

The lock on mine works perfectly, it's just a matter of the clasp itself that is not spring loaded and dangles when faced down, it still requires force to be opened so I will just do what I've done so far which is to place a small rubber band to hold it in place. A better solutions could also be 2 small magnets that I can stick to the bottom side of the clasp and the inside of it.

And I will probably order a replacement when lockdown is over (who knows when that will be!)

The circle with a 59 indicates it is a modern service item. The circle with a 37 denotes it is an original clasp. The letter codes are different manufacturers for the service clasps I believe. There are 4 references for 20,22 and 24mm bracelets, even though the clasps are identical. Oh and one for Prototype 166.093 watches.

I know that this is a relatively old feed but I've just bought and operated the clasp on a NOS s mesh bracelet that I had to remove from the original packaging and operated the clasp 3 times and the tension has gone from the clasp and the spring. Judging from the packaging I know that it would have been a service bracelet and clasp.

The pin that runs through the middle of my clasp moves. This I believe is the culprit and it should be fixed maintaining the tension on the springs. I'm going to try to put the tension back into the spring by rotating the pin (basically get the brushing to line up again) and soldering it in place. Ideally I would weld or braise it and then re brush the sides of the clasp!

A bit miffed for a bracelet I took out of the packet, put on my watch and was broken in a matter of 5 minutes!

If you can get the pin back into its original orientation, then have it laser welded at each end, that might be a doable fix...

That was my plan, Archer, hopefully I can work a way of being able to do get the pin to its original orientation, yes laser weld it would be the best fix!

I will cvalue 13, its a super frustrating situation with one let alone two... I'm working on a method (once I've got it solved I will post details and pics here) and seeking out a jeweller, or watch repairer local to me that may have a laser welder that would be prepared to do the job.

You are more likely to find a laser welder at a jeweller/goldsmith, than at a watchmaker.
