Searching for crown replacement

I was hoping someone might have insight or info for this crown im hunting for. The watch is an omega seamaster caliber 550. Its cased in a gf Ross monocoque case with ref. Number LL6287-1.
Ive looked on Ofrei and searched this case number and found only a stainless crown that is said to fit case LL6287. I'm assuming the -1 at the end of the case reference denotes gold-filled maybe? Many of the crowns on ofrei don't have photos to see what style they might be. I believe the crown should have a coarse knurl, like only 10-12 ridges or so around. It also has an o-ring. The other crown in the image is a stainless from 1961 from an omega made case.

I can see a yellow gold plated case, case number 6287, houses a Cal. 550, and the crown is 069SX42531.

The searches I get for that crown number are steel. I haven't seen a "gold" one. Also does the femal end of the stem come off of the crown to be used on the replacement? I'm not seeing the stem piece in the replacement crowns for sale. I must be missing something

No, you need to source a female stem and cut it to length.

How is it installed? It must be a process that can't be reversed

Well, if you are getting results for steel, it's not the same part number. The full part number designates a gold crown.

The female end of the split stem is threaded into the crown, and comes long, so must be cut to length. Part number for that is 081ST9992.

So that must only be for replacement crowns. The worn stem on the watch had this piece for the female stem that came apart when i tried to push it back onto the watch after servicing. Nothing threaded.

Also part number 069SX42531 just isnt turning up the style that I've seen on this watch. They have too many ridges. Ofrei lists crown 42531 for ll6287 case, but nothing for gold filled as searches for longer part numbers have no hits. Might just have to sell it without the crown or get a placeholder till an orginal pops up

Yes, which is what you asked us to help you identify...in fact if you searched on Otto Frei, the female stem is actually shown along with the crown, so this is all pretty obvious:

This is the crown that Omega calls out for that case number. Often the modern crowns do not look like the originals.

Your search doesn't come up with anything but steel, because they probably don't have the gold version. They have not been able to get parts from Omega for 5 years now, so I suspect their stock is drying up.

Well it was a bit confusing because some crowns came with the stem piece, some without. Those on Otto Frei show that but those that came up in results for 069SX42531 on google don't, so I'm not sure if it's really all that obvious

As I've already said that is a separate part...and I gave you the part number for it.

Yeah I'm not sure where my confusion came from, I guess I was just set on the original crown stem being used in a replacement. Anyways thanks for all the help. Not sure how you have time to help everyone out, but I greatly appreciate it.
Maybe next time I'll be even more informed
