Arrived today and it doesn’t disappoint. I will rarely wear it, only for special occasions and posh do’s but since seeing this watch many years ago I always had it on the back of my mind for some strange reason.
When I saw it for sale by @dsio I just had to have it, even though I should be watching the pennies I knew it was now or never, so I skint myself for a few months 😁 and it was worth it.

So the watch arrived today and I absolutely love it, waiting for it was the original Ultima box bought from @Gwade on this forum and also a lovely NOS Omega vintage strap gifted by @Tom Dick.

So big thanks to Ash, Greg and Tom for making me very happy man indeed.
Cheers, Michael
A few photos of the beauty 👍

Very cool, I’m still so surprised that the box is green when I always assumed it would be red or brown from the black and white photos, enjoy it mate.

Good buy that. I was very tempted myself but have an extremely hard to enforce self appointed embargo on adding solid gold dress watches to the collection.

Ya I looked at it several times when it was up for sale. Wasn’t planning on buying it just such a nice looking watch you can’t help but appreciate it. Props to the guys that sat around designing that, really elegant. Who wouldn’t be pleased having that in their collection it’s like an art piece.

That's a nice package indeed. Congrats Michael!!
I should add for others, it was just the watch in the original listing, after I marked it as sold Gwade PMed me saying the had an original Ultima box for it which blew me away and asked to be put in touch with the buyer so added Michael and they did a deal for a reasonable price on that to complete the set, seeing it united after 72 years is pretty awesome, the odds of that Ultima box and the watch finding each other in the same excellent condition after all this time were incredibly remote but it happened.

I should also mention that Ultima box is 72 years old.

This piece of junk is about 15 years old:

Thanks Ash,
My collection would be nowhere if it wasn't for good guys in this hobby sharing the goods.
Hoarding is lame and if I can help another guy, that makes me smile for him. 😀
I'll be listing some good stuff here soon as I need to clear some room... Stay tuned!

I recall someone on OF saying very aptly that these terrible boxes were likely made from recycled toilet paper.....

Mmm the single-ply nasty stuff that your fingers go straight through too no doubt.

The new Omega boxes that are wood with mechanical latches are a massive improvement, really nice and appropriate for the quality of watch inside.

That’s what I think too 😁
What an incredible combination of perfect pieces.
Major congrats! Glad it went to a deserving owner.
