@kaapstadflaneur Is it common to be able to find these NOS? I’ve kept my eye out for a while and have never found a new one (just in the last three years or so). Would definitely snag a new one if I ever could.

Definitely not common to find a 2231.50 in NOS condition. I was lucky with mine -- I purchased it within hours of popping up on a Japanese site in 2019. I don't think I've seen any others NOS since then, though I admittedly haven't been diligent about tracking them. Just took a quick look at prices online this morning, it looks like the 2231.50 is trending upward, though I think they're still (relatively) reasonable for the quality of the watch.

My watch came in such good shape that I rarely wear it as I don't want to scratch it up... the good condition is a blessing and a curse!

Thanks for the information Such a gorgeous watch! I don’t blame you for wanting to keep it in good shape. There’s probably very few out there in a similar condition.

I actually just sprung on one one these after giving up on the idea of NOS. It looks like it has the original finish, sharp edges, and very little scratching. I can’t wait for it to arrive. 👍

Congrats! Definitely post your new 2231.50 when it arrives. I think these titanium watches are going to end up with a mini-cult following within the larger 2254-style Seamaster fan club. Cheers.

@kaapstadflaneur the 2231 arrived today! Took out a link and it sits perfectly. I’m no professional at determining this, but the edges looks very sharp and the finish appears to be original. Bracelet has very minimal stretch.

Can’t wait to wear this thing in—the first scuffs are always the hardest! 😉

Looks great! Glad that you were able to find a 2231 in such great condition. One of the great things about titanium is that the hairline scratches and small scufffs tend to "heal" themselves and blend into the case over time (they're still there, but just less noticeable). Wear it in good health!

Looks great wearing mine now, should wear this more . Still looking for a “beater” one . Don’t mind no box and papers and head only is not a deal breaker .

Raising this thread from the dead...will the regular 2254.50 black bezel insert fit?

Hello, i tried some aftermarket options but it did not fit well so i bought the original part from Omega for 400$cad. Very expensive but fits perfectly

I just wanted to add my enthusiasm for Ti watches. I have one diver in titanium and it is much more comfortable than stainless steel against my skin (I guess Ti's hypoallergenic qualities are why medical inserts are made in this metal) It is light, but I still know its there. I've been eyeing one of these Omegas myself and am happy to learn about this model in the thread.

Great. Would you share the source for buying or it was just eBay?

Bump!
So about the blue navy bezel insert.. im getting mixed information about if it actually came with only a black one, some say the early models had this blue navy look (my 2231.50 also has it which is from 2000) so can someone confirm or deny this other than Omega? 😀

For instance these two:

I tried in vain to find the answer to this years ago and the general understanding is that some had dark blue bezel text and others with black. Same with the 2231.80 (Blue dial) it's strange. Regardless of the dial color, they could have black or blue bezel text.

OP, did you pop the aluminum insert out and put it into the Titanium bezel? Looks good.

Strange indeed! Mine had a full service 2017 by an omega dealer so I would have thought it would have been corrected if it was wrong since the spring for the bezel etc was replaced and returned to me in a "goodie bag" 😀

I had seen the 2231.50 last winter. I think $2800 was the value it was selling/trading for.

That seems about the same price ive seen them for also, interesting to see if they become "rare" in comparison with the steel models in the future
