I have both. And it depends.

If I was only allowed to own one watch, it would be the blue AT.

I am actually selling the SM300, as I find the braclet clasp too thick for my liking. Plus, i haveha modern ploprof and that is my goto watch for vacation.

I have the new aqua t and the stainless 300. Agreed 120% I might sell my 300 too the aqua t by far is my favorite.

I'd also advise you to go to a dealer and try them on the wrist, it's crazy how things can change once you try them on.
If it is a 50/50 I would choose the AT for the new movement and the METAS certification.

Stainless ?
Yup.

I think it's a great watch to dress up or down ... A tool watch with looks.

Been thinking about using my tax return to boost my savings to purchase a new watch. Debating between the new seamster 300 and an aqua terra (blue dial). Any suggestions?

Given your choices illI pick the AT, i love how versatile it is, and the SM 300 i dont like itsi design and the fact that it doesn't have the date, I much prefer the SMPc over it

Seamaster 300 would be my choice. I especially like the Spectre Master Coaxial with the lollipop second hand

Just thought I'd share as its on my wrist today. Notice I brushed the CPL on bracelet... So much better IMO
I've been looking to do the same to my AT with a blue dial. Where'd you have that done? Any specific instructions to the watchmaker (assuming you didn't do it yourself)? Looks like whoever did it to yours did a great job. I wish they'd left the center portion brushed like the older models.....

Since this thread has been resurrected...

Been thinking about using my tax return to boost my savings to purchase a new watch.
I'm going to use that logic with my wife... you want savings? new watch = savings!

Debating between the new seamster 300 and an aqua terra (blue dial). Any suggestions?
I've tried both and bought neither. I was leaning more toward the AT though as I do not like the PCL's on the 300MC.

It's now April, what did you end up deciding @llvhhui ?

I did it myself. Only advice is not to use too much pressure and keep the direction and strokes consistent. Oh, and remove the bracelet from watch before doing it so you can flatten it.

Do you have any more pics that you can share? Looks good from the angle in your pic and I’d like to see more of the refinished portion of the bracelet if possible.

Also- what “tools” did you use?

I’m a fan of the smpC and the 8500AT

I am not a fan at all of the 300MC. The 21mm lugs, the bezel seems huge. Dial and bezel looks like a saucer plate in a wrist for some reason.
