Never said they have charged me for the visits back to the shop... its been under warranty of the original full service. They've been very helpful, and I have no criticism whatsoever. Its just frustrating being stuck without a watch for 4-6 weeks, posting it off etc.... SURELY they would check for magnetism as a routine????
Not really referring to a cost...assuming you have a warranty...referring more to thought that they always replaced parts rather than an adjustment.
The iPhone battery can induce a electromagnetic charging on ferrous metals (not very scientific. Please excuse me it is Saturday after all).
I thought all watches after somewhere around 1980 were antimagnetic? Is this not true?

Sure

This must be happening ALL the time otherwise?

Antimagnetique depends on the amount of magnetism

No not all watches after 1980 are Antimagnetique (pun intended).
Only very new Metas qualified watches are reasonably antimagnetic, So are Rolex Milgauss and a few others.

It is happening and I believe demagnetizing a movement is part of every good service.

Interesting...because I would have thought thats what the incabloc system above was designed to protect against...I would think only the mother of all shocks could do that...I must have had a false impression.

The Incabloc shock protection on the Omega (and the Kif on the Rolex) is designed to protect the balance pivots during a chock. It has little to do with the balance spring getting hung up.

...replaced it with the "money pit" of all Seamaster 2254.50 watches..

that’s a different view/opinion on the 2254.50 as there are several members around here who own this and other models with the same movement and seem very happy with the reliability and overall quality of these watches.
How many of them have you owned/serviced? What were the issues that in your view make these watches worthy of the money pit moniker?

😕
