Seamaster 166010 - TR case stamp?

Hi All,

I've recently acquired a Seamaster 166.010, dating from around 1966. It's a reference I've long admired and enjoyed looking and reading about here on OF, so I'm very happy to have been able to add one to my collection.

I had a question about the TR letters stamped on the inner caseback (see second pic). I don't recall seeing this on other Omegas I've had in the past. I wonder if this is manufacturer mark, like HF or CB on the Speedmaster?

I'd be grateful for any insights or information from the experts and collectors here - apologies if I've missed any previous threads on this subject but my searches didn't reveal anything.

cheers
Dan

Hi Dan,

I wanted to help given that you sold me that nice c case Connie but the caseback is tight on my 166.010, so I didn’t have a look.

That said, all of my photos of Seamaster casebacks seem to have one pair of initials or another and I assumed they show the caseback maker

Hi there!
Thanks for your reply and nice to hear your collection also includes another classic Omega - yes you're probably correct, just hadn't come across that particular makers mark -
Hope you are keeping well
Dan
