For years this is one of my dream watches. But nowadays its very difficult to find a good one not franken or watchco, considering a collectionable one, with good dial, bezel, case, etc... What is a 'fair' price today for paying?

Supply is scarce. Demand is high. Even the lady model easily fetches 1k$. Count on twice that amount.

Sorry, I have been looking at the 120 models, not the 300.

Hard to find good ones but not impossible. These were tool watches so many show lots of wear. Also many relumed.
Good ones I would say 7-9k USD, broad triangle more like 10-12K.

So what about this one? Does it look collectionable? The seller asks 9,4k. The only problem I saw was the tritium service at the dial, but looks like they are matching in color with the rest.

Nice. But, IMHO, not as good a SM300 example when compared with the SM sold by a member in January. (Mentioned above).

The main difference in favor is the sward hands. But agree, the member's one is better.

Yes but there is more to the evaluation.
The sword and seconds hands appear to be replacements.
The Member’s example is rarer as it is an earlier 165024-64 with a hard to find, early (correct) bezel in very good condition. With the exception of the crown, it sports much originality. Dial and hands, lume are believed original. It also came with an extract and a vintage, though not original bracelet. He are photos for comparison.

As you may have already guessed, I was the buyer. 😀

No, they are not. Original dial, hands and bakelite bezel.
Enjoy your watch, its handsome. Excellent buy.
Althought this one is out of my price range, it is still my preference in terms of model, its a matter of taste, only loosing to the 'Big Triangle', that's the ONE.

The seconds hand is certainly replaced - it's the service hand shape (and looks like it could be SL).

Unfortunately I'd say around $15k in Europe...

hi I’ve just purchased this one from America it cost me about £4000 with import duties as you can see it came with some of the original parts that’s been replaced ( I’m not sure who did the work on it ) the strap has a date off 2 /70 any advice greatly received thanks Dave
