Seamaster 120- where to pay attention to?

Hi everyone, I'm thinking of selling my 2011 Seamaster and going for a Seamaster 120 from the sixties.
Where should I pay attention to? Any references or movements that are more or less desirable? (Manual vs automatic?)
I've only gotten so far that I find the state of the bezel important (dark black, not faded) and that I really prefer the earlier models over the ones with the bigger case and the blue seconds hand.

A model like the one below would be a good candidate, by the looks. Any remarks and what would be a fair value? (135.027 is this reference)

Many thanks for your help!

Yeah, you are brave wanting to tread into shark infested waters. We actually see far more fakes pop up for sale than real ones. The thread posted above is about as close to gospel as you will get. If it looks too good to be true, it is most assuredly is.

This thread is good reading.

Autos are probably more desirable than the manual winds but overall condition abs originality are the most important factors. Also make sure the bezel is present as they’re almost impossible to source on their own.

Thanks very much for sharing. I did do a search here on the forum, but must have missed the thread. Will read through..

It’s a great PSA thread, and there is no real grey area with these- dials looked like this, bezels looked like this- no, that’s not a prototype or rare variant.
Keep in mind that cosmetic parts (like bezels and dials) are NLA- period (new hands are available but are white luminova). We can hope and pray all we want that Omega will make service parts for these (the movements are standard so those are easy to fix), but they clearly couldn’t give a shit- these watches are orphaned. Functionality doesn’t matter when hunting for these- they will all need service- it’s the holy trinity that matters, condition, condition, condition.
