After all the talk on end links today I decided the 1503/70 bracket I purchased from a member here would be more fitting on my Pie Pan than on my pre-DeVille. After a little struggle and no scratches, I think I made the right choice. 😉

I think the swap was a good idea. I like the results better for both watches. Congrats on avoiding the lug back scratches.

Smart !
I've be sitting quite a long time yesterday night grabbing infos about the BOR and end links to suit my SS Dog Leg as well ! And came to the conclusion that 1037/70 could be the best combination ; could you please post a wrist shot as I am still in doubt about the end links of a BOR fitting well on the odd cut angles of the dog legs ?? Is the #70 the best option end link ?
I had tried the same swap of the between my '52 Seamaster and my '67 Pie Pan a couple of months ago, but mine has a #11 end link, and I wasn't impressed at all ; what I realized is that it's when it is on the wrist that the end link follows the bracelet and shows a big angle difference with the case legs.
My 7 rows BOR + # end links definitely look much better on the SM, but I'm still hoping to find the matching combination for my Doggie, as to me this watch is great with either a nice leather or a bracelet, and a 9 rows looks smarter on a Pie Pan IMO, but I need to find the right end link ref that will stay with the legs, and not "fall down" with the bracelet as soon as I wear it.

Thanks for your help, whenever you have the opportunity to post your wrist shot !

That black dial crosshair is something else though

Absolutely ; I'm sure my other watches wouldn't mind sharing space with this one !

Success to my eyes... Looks nicer.
I always have troubles finding strap colours for my black dials. Though, I'm not a fan of brown straps, it is a good combo here

Oooooh, that black dial crosshair is beautiful. I have my dog leg on 5 row at the moment but I do like dog leg + 7row combination much more.

Thanks @impalla62ss !

If I may... comparing it with the pics of that of @khangct , the gap between the end link and the case on yours is bigger ; I am wondering whether this can be adjusted by pressing or lifting the lower part of the end link (which bears the Ref Nr...)

BTW @khangct : yours is a "7 rows", and you may wish to switch to a "9 rows" : the count always includes the outer parts; having said that, it is of course a matter of taste, but I agree with you that a "9 rows" looks better on a Dog Leg.
IMO, 7 rows are nicer on a SM ; it might have to do with the shape of the case legs.
