Am I the only one that gets bothered by the smallest scratch?

So I noticed a few days ago a small indentation almost like a dent right about the 40 on my seamaster diver 300m. Not a clue how it got there and now it’s all my eyes look for.

Even I know it’s stupid, but can’t get over it. I need the watch fam to tell me I’m being stupid and to let it go.

But seriously, I do get where you're coming from. My brand new Seiko picked up a scratch on the crystal after just a couple of months, right over poor old Snoopy!

Again, I have no idea how it happened. And my eye keeps getting drawn to it as well. Sadly, it's just a fact of life if you want to wear your watches regularly and enjoy them. The only way you'll keep a watch in pristine condition is to keep it in a box. But then what's the point in that? For sure, the first scratch hurts the most. But then I tell myself to move on because no one else is likely to notice it unless I tell them it's there. It just becomes part of the watch's (and your) history.

I haven’t quite got to the stage where I carry a tube of Polywatch around in my pocket but I have it pretty close at hand 🤪

Dimples are attractive.
You just need to frame your statements the right way and the brain will quickly latch on.

Definitely not stupid. It must go straight to the service centre for a full polish or better yet, get rid of it quickly and buy a virgin one, then don’t take it out the box to make sure it stays pristine!

@Tstylin31 , it's so tiny I had to look for some time to even find it. I know it looks huge to you, but it really is not.

Wear your watch and enjoy it. When it needs a service send it off and all will be repaired.

Then you can make a new dent, somewhere else and the whole process begins again 😉

I bought my seamaster new in 2016, and it’s had a hard but great life, it’s a bit a bit like me, slightly battered, but I love it, I don’t even remember the first scratch. Don’t worry, you’ll soon have many more and then they won’t matter. Wear and enjoy😊.

Like having a beautiful car and getting the first ding.
