Find me a pair a slacks at Goodwill with a $0.79 tag on them and maybe I’ll consider believing this nonsense.

I occasionally stop by goodwills recently saw a decent citizen marked with its MSRP and current sale price. I just highly doubt watches will slip by, rare pottery and some other weird things do but watches not often and I haven’t even seen a timex marked under a buck.

I’m pretty sure Goodwill learned their lesson at this this blew up everywhere. I call bs on this Reddit story.

agreed. They now pull the nice jewelry items to go in an online auction. I guess it is always possible that some local store messed up, but I really find it hard to believe.

Vintage leather goods and golf clubs for me. That said, I picked up a pair of John Varvatos shoes there the other day for $10. Still had the original price tag inside, oh, and they fit 😀

Got this one (head only) for $3 at a thrift store back in the 1990s. Too bad those days are over…

Yeah, Goodwill smarted up a long time ago, like mid 2000s, anything valuable goes to their online auctions. They do not use ebay anymore.

BS. I know many dealers that have contacted various Goodwill and other thrift store outlets with brand lists.

The employees told me that any watches that come in are checked against the lists or they call if not to confirm value.

Not wanted items sit in the display case (cheap quartz). Wanted are kept out of site and sold to dealers and money used by the stores for purchases

One Goodwill near my parts suppliers did in store auctions on their watches and the manager checked EBay to confirm whether watches had value
