It's running good not really sure how to work it. But the alarm went off wile setting the time so that's a plus lol
I was setting the time forward and when the hand passed the center arrow the alarm went off that's all I know
That IS what it should do, if you have left the alarm set crown in the 'OUT' (ON) position. This based on my assumption that it's a Wittnauer movement in there (I'm pretty sure, but I'm not an expert, others certainly chime in).
To set alarm, pull out the top crown and turn and push it back . To wind up the alarm, wind the top crown. Bottom crown sets the time and power the movement.
Then, to activate alarm, top crown must be 'OUT'; at least that's how my Wittnauer works (or did work 'til a few weeks ago)..
Crown should be push in to turn the alarm on. Wind it up, and alarm will be triggered when the time comes.
Stand corrected! So, crown out, and the alarm does NOT activate, but only xxxx sets! Edit: need to get mine fixed!
Is it normal to see a watch like that (and its price) and proceed to scan the replies for 'dibs'? Dibs after Gavin. Nice score on the watch, i20rider!
Here is a catalog page, circa 1960 of this very watch: This is a very highly prized watch by collectors. If you really want people to be green with envy, go over to the PuristS Jaeger-LeCoultre board and tell your story there. http://jlc.watchprosite.com/?show=forumlist In fact, JLC recently made a homage to this very watch and brought the LeCoultre name out of mothballs just for this model. That is the new version, not the original, which is what you have. Fantastic find! This is right up there with the $2 Patek Amagnetic (which really did happen several years ago). http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=msg&th=979715&rid=6214#msg_3373277 gatorcpa
Hey! That's not a vintage Omega! Nice score. We should start a thread on our greatest scores. I won't presume anything but that has to be up there!
