It is the same photo! Look at the box and the fingers of Princess Astrid.

When did he leave SAS in 1971? In March?

So it is, you're right.

Not sure exactly when he left SAS but it was announced in the press in July 1971 that he had joined Olympic.

We don't think that the fonts on that one are a little off? I'd also be concerned about the crown (which is also not mentioned).

Edit: I now realise this has now been covered and should have realised this was an old thread. Sorry.

Absolutely identical text to the one I posted originally, almost five years ago.

The text is also very similar to the watch that was posted by @Dre with the US style Super case (there is a great side-by-side comparison on page 3 of this thread).

The two watches have serial numbers that are 4 apart. I guess SAS bought (or were given by UG) a small batch to be used as presentation watches. Both Nilert and Tornqvist worked for SAS in the US.

The crown is a later replacement.

Well... That ought to shut some people up. I for one (and as I believe I wrote to you in a PM) thought your watch/dial/case back and engraving to be genuine all along. Common sense says it would be crazy to fake one in this manner.

It is like my small set of NOS UG sub dials (2) and NOS bezel (1). Why would somebody make one (1) dial totally different from the norm and then sell it for "peanuts" together with a one fitting the norm? How you come about buying it, the seller, and the lack of gaining something by faking it makes a whole - pairing it with probability - and people can cry fake all they want.

But is is nice finding another one... ;-)

Few things to ponder

March to March that's weird. ( why would someone put March twice and not 1941- 1961. )

T H instead of Tore that's weird for a guy that has worked for 20+ years and considering he's role

And thirdly if only hes sleeve was shorter in the below picture

Well March March doesn’t look weird now there is April April….

Ahh the watch world..you just never know

Congrats on the watch and finding the proof o

Thank you, that is much appreciated. I intend to do some research now and will share whatever I find.
