I have read somewhere there is a longer version available.

In saying that though there’s no option of choosing different strap lengths on the Omega website like there is when selecting the watch on the bracelet.

I hadn't noticed the zirconium dioxide (oxide?) label on the dials before.

Now I think there is a shorter version as well. I was asked if I wanted short or standard when I ordered my strap (I think that was about 11 weeks ago now!). The standard seemed ok for my 6.75" wrist. I can't tell though as it's still not arrived and I'm possibly thinking short would have meant less excess through the keeper.

Might be a moot point soon though as I'm almost thinking of moving my Seamaster on. It might be a test: no strap = sell watch! Fate decides.

There is a short version of the strap. I had it ordered and was told 3-4 weeks. This week will be the 3rd and I haven't gotten the call yet.

I have regular length and a little over 6.5 wrist. The strap fits secure at the second to last notch, which gives plenty of room to wear over a wetsuit. It looks fine on the second to last notch. I can wear it loose at the third to last.

Good to know. Thanks for that....if mine ever turns up

Buy on bracelet, later source the rubber
Of course only applicable if you like the bracelet.

Could always sell the bracelet which should pay for the rubber and much more though?

I guess you could but can't say it's something I'd consider.

Do people do this? Would imagine those who want it on a bracelet buy it with one to start with.

Being an impulsive purchaser, Yeah I would say I fall into that camp (buy on a whim and realise I quite fancied another whim)!

Does the rubber strap come in different sizes? I know that for some straps Omega has those, such as for the folding clasp of the dark side of the moon

I just understood from my local dealer that the rubber strap for the Seamaster comes in sizes S, M and L. Price quote was 365 Euro (incl. VAT).

So how can we tell what size straps we have and does the watch come with M as standard issue?

On the reverse of mine the 12 O'Clock strap with pin buckle has the following markings: '20' followed by 'G4C' and then 'CVZ010126'. The 6 O'Clock strap has '64'. Do any of these marking denote the size?

I am not sure about markings on the strap - but sizes are as follows - S - 10.5/11cm, M - 11.5/12cm, L - 12.5/13cm. (Not really sure if this helps but so marginal)

To further the knowledge of mankind I have measured mine.

It’s difficult to get an exact measurement as the strap is on the watch and butts right up to the watch case but measuring from the back from case to tip mine is 8.5cm, excluding pin buckle, or 9.5cm with it and 11.5cm.

If buying new I would buy the bracelet version and ask the store to sweeten the pot by adding the strap free of charge.
