    Hi guys,

I'm planning on buying the new Seamaster Diver 300m in blue. I'm thinking about getting it on a rubber strap, because the clasp in the bracelet is too big on my 6.6 inches wrist. This will be my first real watch and my only watch for a while.

What do you think about the blue rubber? Is it versatile? Can I wear it on a suit for example or is it too sporty?

and what do you think about the bracelet with its big clasp? will it be fine on a small wrist?

Most people recommend buying on bracelet then buy the rubber as it’s cheaper then doing it the other way.

As for dressy enough and how it fits... that’s your call.

Rubber. But agree with Foo2rama that you should buy it on the bracelet.

Exactly what he said. Ind if you're deal savvy, you'll get them to throw the rubber in at the end after you negotiate a discount, like I did on both my blue and black... ;)

I bought on rubber as I dont like bracelets. It's an awesome strap and super comfy.

No clasp to scuff up on desk dives either!

I just got the call from my AD! My rubber is here.

It is just so good and would be my recommendation. But it won’t last you forever.

So I bought it on the bracelet and ordered the rubber separately for 275 €. Took exactly 4 weeks.

I got mine on the bracelet but decided to go NATO instead or rubber! Waiting for it!

As others have suggested buy on a bracelet and get the rubber separately or even thrown in.

The bracelet will last much longer than the rubber if you’re looking to keep it long term

I really like the look on rubber, but as others have said, it's better to buy on the bracelet and then go to rubber, NATO, etc. Buying the bracelet after the fact can be quite expensive. Also, if you plan to sell the watch later, it should be easier to sell with the bracelet.

Think you have your answer in terms of buying on rubber or bracelet. On your other point of wearing it with a suit... No one really takes notice of watches in my experience. You could wear a mickey mouse watch and almost no one would batter an eyelid.

So just go with what you like the look of.

I bought mine pre-owned on a bracelet. I was about to buy the Omega rubber strap, but didn't like the buckle. I found a guy in Singapore that makes 20mm straps with a deployment. It doesn't fit as well as the Omega version (bezel gets caught on the strap a little), but it cost $55 shipped to the USA and has a deployment. Sellers instagram handle is strapie.inc (I have no affiliation with him other than being a satisfied customer.)

I think the majority vote goes for going for bracelet and then rubber as the other way around would be very expensive. With that said, I personally think bracelet thinks better if you're going full suit, but ultimately it's up to you as we all have our own style and tastes. The rubber is a nice look though.

I prefer the look of the bracelet, but now after wearing it for three weeks, I'm starting to hate it. Yes, it's got a huge clasp and I also have a small wrist and it's not comfortable 100% of the time like it should be. I found a nice (I hope) rubber strap on Etsy coming from the U.K. so we'll see how that does. I agree that buying with the bracelet and then getting a strap that you like is the best move if you ever want to sell it down the road. Otherwise you can save $100 and just get the rubber to start with.

The difference is $300 after the price increases.

Does the Omega site even list rubber? I was there a couple weeks ago and only saw NATO. A quality clasp means a lot but I thought their prices a bit high at $160 for seat belt.

I think there are a lot more options available than what is shown on the web site. For example, at the AD, they had a new SP on rubber with contrasting (white) stitching that I thought was very attractive. But I couldn't find it on the web site.

Does the rubber strap come in diffrent sizes? I know that for some straps Omega has those, such as for the folding clasp of the dark side of the moon
