Hello, does anyone know which rotors from other monements will fit a 552
mine has got a worn bearing so looking out for one that does not have case rub marks on
thought it might be easier and cheaper than getting the pinion bearing replaced

Regards

If you find a replacement rotor with a rotor bearing gear that is in better shape than yours, be prepared to shell out a bigger dollar than the fee for replacing just the bearing gear!

Used bearing can also be problematic, as some of the packages can be reclosed with tabs. Job lot sellers just part the stuff out, or list estate stuff parted out. They are looking for maximum return with minimal effort.

There are two parts of the bearing. The geared part is actually pressed into the rotor. It can be easly removed with a pinion puller or lifing levers. The replacement package should contain both. Sometimes one finds the 1400-R package with just the gear. Omega protects no reputation, not making these parts (which are consumables) not available to parts distributors. In a lot of ways this is quite the opposite.

There are also service fix revisions on bearing to strengthen them. In ladies movements the 670 and 680 bearings differ even though many of the other parts are the same. For the most part the 550-1400-R pair fits most of the gents series. The 470/500 group are a bit smaller and there is that weird 570 movement what is not compatable with anything.

All 550, 560, and 750 series will work.

Replacing the rotor pinion is the typical repair…
