Brown dial, sapphire crystal, 1863 and transparent case back. Wish I had one, but seem very few ever for sale. Three on C24 today two steel bracelets and one on leather strap.
No I don't have a brown dial version, In fact, when they were produced '07 - '13 I had a three watch collection. A Planet Ocean first Gen, a Carrera, and Rolex date Just II. Had no awareness of Speedmasters until I decided to buy one of the big box versions hesalite crystal, pre owned on Craigslist. maybe 2015 or 2016 I first got a Speedmaster. Now I see the number of limited edition and anniversary models is quite remarkable.
I don’t know if it’s the same reference but I saw this brown dial speedy selling at an ad in Canada around those same years. Very nice version.
Think they were sold many places other than Japan as you could buy them in Australia....Tried one on at Perth airport around the time they were out.
No need 100% sure they were not Japan limited, they were sold in many countries Reference in below thread to being available new in London Boutique in below thread. https://omegaforums.net/threads/whe...re-sandwich-speedmaster-first-produced.56958/
I sold at least 2 over the years and pretty sure it was a US AD. Have seen multiple, multiple dozens for sale over the years. There is no way it was anywhere near only 500.
This is definitely a limited / lower production watch than the black dial, but it is as nowhere as rare as you say. It was sold in many countries around the world. I don’t have numbers, but can just tell you after following the market daily for over a decade and the numbers I have seen it was well over 500. Maybe 500 a year over the run? Even that is pulling a number out of thin air.
I am fully relaxed Others have confirmed other countries above. I will try to dig through my photos to find the cards from the ones I have sold.
Mine was bought from Bluek Japan on 25/Dec/2012 but I bought it new through ebay in January 2013, this was one of my very first Speedmaster purchases
I saw a brown dial in the US at an AD. Not sure if it was the Sapphire or if it was Hesalite. But it was definitely a brown dial.
Why are you doing this? And why would someone want to put their serial number in a document for all the world wide web to see?
First of all, i run several documents like this. It helps keep track of legitimate watches etc and possibly values depending on how much info they want to collect. Great idea as we don't know how many were made.
Why is it that serial numbers are blurred out in sale posts? Potential scammers? How would this be any different? Who benefits? How do you know you are not getting BS serial numbers? Afraid of what??
Since there is no rare brown dial Japan only Speedmaster, my guess is there won't be one posted for sale. Just the regular brown dialed Speedmaster that was available world wide.
