As someone who is not a fan of the Daytona, I actually don't mind that one.
I wish I still had Photoshop, because I would love to see the Daytona hands/dial in the the vintage case above it.
Someone with the Magnetic Lasso make it happen!

Gah guess I'll just do it myself....
Found a tool online not as good but will do.

And for giggles and shits:

I think I made them both better lol

Can you make it two tone and add some palm fronds, please? 🤮But I’ll admit that your proposed changes do make it look better. 😀

I will take both since you are all bitching. I would wear either or both at one time. I like a lot of words on the dial I can read them if I’m bored.

I only had one Rolex and dummy me got a quartz Cellini. When I bought my wife her ring I got myself a Rolex in the diamond district in NYC. I just liked watches back then and grew up with quartz I really didn’t understand what I was doing at the time, just picking out a watch I liked.

Looking back now I could have got a automatic for not much more. As the years passed I came to realize I don’t much like gold watches. I was rudely chastised here when I first joined as people assumed I was trying to sell it pre 10,000 posts which hurt me deeply and I don’t think I fully recovered yet. I never sold anything here. As a matter of a fact I have bought six watches on this forum and never sold a thing here so shame on you whoever accused me of trying to break the rules.

I did post it as I was trying to learn about it and figure out what to do since I no longer liked it. In the end I sold it to watch box for a little more than I paid for it. That allowed me to get my first mundane speedy and give money to my wife. I shit you not watchbox just got a new ostrich band for it and put it up for sale for 40k about 2 months later. Shoot I didn’t even get low five figures for it. I think someone actually bought it as well as it was gone a while later.
It does look nice in our wedding pictures at least and I guess I can’t get upset at the 40k thing as watchbox and govberg have access to people who will buy and spend that much I don’t. I just had a bunch of punks on a forum jumping to conclusions.

Sorry, I just wanted to tell my Rolex story I hope you enjoyed it. I may develop a new Rolex story when the time comes to pass, it will not involve a Daytona or any other major model put I do appreciate Rolex despite the many complaints people have against them. There old stuff is cool looking and you gotta appreciate their success in marketing even though it seems rather annoying in the current atmosphere.

It’s a thing of beauty … but it needs diamonds.

All that effort and Rolex themselves beat you to the punch years ago 😁

That Tiger Daytona is genuinely awesome.

I’d wouldn’t wear it in a month of Sunday’s but it’s so over the top, ridiculously shit, I love it.

Then:

Now:

I wouldn't object to your "now" example at all...except for the fact I have no need for a chronograph and so I don't like any of them enough to buy one. Same with Subs and GMTs. Fun to look at but I have no need for what they do.

Do you have a "need" for what any mechanical watch does?

What's the difference between a chronograph and a cosmograph?

Yes. I like uncomplicated watches...the beauty of simplicity. No batteries or charging stations. I do need a second hand so I can see that the watch is actually running. I prefer a strap to a bracelet. I do like automatic self winding (though I just bought a manual wind), and I love the sculpture of certain cases...my Omega (non-date) Constellation (18k), my two 18k Rolex 1013s (just minute, hour, seconds), my steel 1018s, and my (still not in my hands yet) JLC Reverso Grand Taille. None are big, none do more than tell the time, none are so heavy or clunky that they feel obvious on my wrist. My cell phone is just a phone...I use it once a day as that...at the most. The wristwatch...like the paperback book...is a perfect piece of technology.
