I love my GMT2. I much prefer Coke over Pepsi, but I think I do like Batman.
Is a Batman bezel (a) affordable, and (b) easy to swap out?

The (ceramic) batman bezel will not fit on a 16710 which have aluminum inserts. it was made for the newer cases that came out in 2005 for GMT IIs

1675 from 1978 with a black fat font insert (I also have a Pepsi insert) 😀 Think it looks good on both Oyster (I have both a folded and a solid one) and Jubilee 👍

1675/3 root beer from 1972 on Oyster 😀

I know that the 480 end links are not the correct ones for a 7836 bracelet as they came with the Oyster for 16753 root beers (78363). They should be the ones marked 258 or 260 AFIK. I sourced a 258 NOS set for 360 € 😲 But as they lack the "gold" on the centre piece I kept the 480 ones on.

I have replaced the insert with a faded one which I think looks much better 😀

These gmts are really cool. If I ever to get a birthyear it will be a 1987 gmt master!

I love Speedmasters but the GMT 1675 / 16750 is my obsession. They age in so many different ways. Here are a few pictures I have collected over the years of my favourite examples.

Amazing patina on the dial, blue jeans faded insert, fat case.

How often do you see a ghost insert? So cool

James Lovell's personal GMT

Fuchsia insert, unpolished case

Wow.... beautiful; incredible collection.
I have one 1675, but a couple of different bezel inserts... so, to change its appearance, I simply swap bezels. Have a look...

So this may have been covered in other threads, but what determines which color in the bezel fades first? I've seen some where both colors fade evenly, the one like @ATWG where his blue faded but the red is still vibrant, and mine where the red is fading first but the blue is still bold.

I've owned mine for almost 20 years (16750) and both colors were vibrant when I got it. I am not a sun worshiper as I have a fair complexion, so it hasn't gotten tons of sun exposure.
I assume it's dependent on the generation of the bezel, but has someone mapped out which era bezels age in which way? Would be intersting if there is a consistent pattern to how they age as it would help to identify original/service bezels.
