    Hi all,

Up for sale today is my Rolex Datejust ref 16000 in stainless steel. In my opinion, what makes this Datejust quite interesting is a combination of attributes that are seldom seem together in a single example. This is an uncommon variant that combines the smooth bezel of the reference 16000, white buckley dial with black romans, matching black handset and original jubilee. On the wrist, the wearing experience is quite sporty (for a Datejust) yet classic at the same time.

Condition: This example is in very good condition. The white Buckley dial including the black painted romans is clean. The matching black handset is similarly clean. The case appears nice and thick. Some small scratches here and there due to normal wear. Nothing excessive at all and presents well on the wrist. Clean crystal. The crown action is smooth and screws in/out easily. The bracelet fits up to a 7.5" wrist and has minimal stretch for its age. The movement was recently serviced by my watchmaker and runs well. Ref and serial # between the lugs are crisp.

    Additional Information:
Size: 36mm without crown, 20mm lug width
    Serial: R50xxxx
    Year: 1987/88
    Caliber: Automatic, cal 3035
    Box/papers: No/No
Bracelet: Original jubilee, fits 7.5" wrist

I’m asking $4995 USD which will also include express shipping within CONUS. Other countries at cost.,Paypal, Zelle, Transferwise or bank wire only. Watch and I are in the US and I can ship worldwide (with some exceptions).

Plenty of references available upon request. Thanks!

I believe he wore an AirKing with a light dial. That said, Harrison Ford was known to wear a white Buckley dial Datejust. Which in my opinion is pretty cool too.

Just deep-dived the Buckley thing as I was unfamiliar... interesting albeit a strange fella behind the namesake.

What's really ironic here -- huge Harrison fan and always thought his watch looked great as well as thought it cool that he wore it in so many films because I always assumed costumers & directors would kibosh such a thing. Perhaps because it looks so timeless and classic they didn't have an issue?
Also ironic, the photo of him at his ranch in Jackson Hole... I used to subscribe to Vanity Fair and I recall that issue very well, as well as me thinking "That watch looks phenomenal on him with those clothes."

Lest we forget that Rolex Datejusts historically were marketed at “sport” watches- not dress watches.
