Dial: Excellent grey sunburst dial. White print. Sigma symbol below the six hour marker. All lume dots are fully intact and perfectly match the handset. Correct open 6,9 date wheel.
Case: Case is strong showing good lines and may have received a light polish in the past. Lugs are reasonably sharp and factory brushed finish is still present. 36mm diameter. Reference and serial numbers are well defined.
Movement: Cal. 1570 automatic
Bezel: Engine-turned bezel
Bracelet: Original Rolex USA jubilee bracelet showing significant stretch. 17 links.
Accessories: None
Condition: The dial on this vintage Datejust is in excellent condition. All lume plots are intact. Handset is very clean. Case, bezel and bracelet show light signs of wear, some scratches and imperfections typical of its age. This DJ 1603 winds and keeps good time but a movement service is highly recommended. [Service history is unknown].
Notes: Introduced in 1945 the Rolex Datejust is a timeless classic. Classy, unassuming, perfectly proportioned, a truly iconic timepiece. This Ref. 1603 from 1974 is a beautiful example.
