I too have my suspicions. But it has been my experience that, during WWII, Rolex sold a lot of watches in Canada, that were in generic, non-Oyster, Canadian cases. I’d like to see what is IN the case.

Thank you for that. I was the high bidder and bought this watch. It was made for the British Government. That's what the broad arrow on the back means. Just like Omega and JLC.

Lovely watch. Very good buy. Only a very dumb crook would try to make a living making and selling fakes of this watch. Too much time and effort would have to go into each watch...plus you'd have to know what you are doing. When you add up the hours of effort for the price this sold at, it doesn't make sense for this to be a fake. Knocking out cheap faux Date Dates and Subs in factories in China...or smash and grab at a high end jewelry store...or mugging people...and now you've got a profit margin. The only low volume high profit crime I can think of is art forgery.

At best, it will be something like an AS 1130.
Worst case scenario, who knows what little surprise is waiting?

Is there a full moon or something?

I hear that over exposure to paint fumes can cause momentary delirium.

From your description, the absence of movement pictures and the uniqueness of the model are notable factors. To determine if it's a genuine Rolex, I would recommend reaching out to a trusted Rolex expert or dealer. They can provide a more accurate assessment by examining the watch's details and verifying its authenticity.
While $1300 may seem like a good deal for a Rolex, it's essential to be cautious when purchasing high-end watches online. Ensuring its authenticity will help you make an informed decision.
