Hi All, Up for sale a beautiful, classic Rolex Oyster Perpetual OCC (Official Certified Chronometer), reference 6085, with a stainless steel engine-turned bezel dating back to 1950-1951 (serial number 723XXX). The case of this stunning watch is made from stainless steel, and the watch comes on a brown, leather strap with an original Rolex buckle in stainless steel. This automatic wrist watch has a lovely aged radium dial. A distinctive feature of this specific watch, is that both the caseback and the case have the number “5” engraved, which confirms that both the caseback and the case, were manufactured and assembled originally at Rolex factory for this specific watch, and were not assembled later with intermixable parts The original automatic movement calibre Rolex A260, certified chronometer, is in very good condition for its age, and the movement was serviced in March 2019 by an experienced watchmaker. This specific movement reference was also used in Rolex Submariner references 6202, 6204 and 6205; Oyster series in the 1950s, so only the movement has some intrinsic value in it. When winding the crown, to set up time (hours and minutes), one will note that sometimes the crown seems to bounce, but while in my possession, that has not affected the watch. It keeps precise timing when compared to a much more recent quartz mechanism.
