Hello everyone,
Up for sale is my non-quickset 1965 Rolex Day-Date Ref. 1803/8 with rare blue Buckley dial in solid 18k yellow gold. Watch benefits from a recent (2022) full Rolex service. Asking £10,999 OBO. The watch is in excellent condition with crisp fluting to the bezel and sharp case lines. Correct matching hands and clean dial, with minimal polishing done over the years, which is evidenced by the patina which has developed into the 18 karat cold case. Worn minimally and always stored properly. This model features Rolex's iconic President case with a fluted bezel, screw-down Twinlock crown and the highly sought-after blue Buckley dial with painted Roman numerals. Contains the Rolex Calibre automatic chronometer movement, centre seconds, day display at 12 o'clock, date display at 3 o'clock with Cyclops magnification, acrylic crystal, screw-down Oyster caseback and Rolex factory OEM real alligator leather strap in deep blue with gold plated pin/ tang buckle. Comes with original Rolex box and insert, Rolex service papers, Rolex booklet, original calendar for wallet and Rolex seal tag
Rolex Day-Date models of this era are collectible due to their historical significance, exceptional craftsmanship and enduring prestige. The blue Buckley dial is among the most desirable vintage Day-Date configurations, prized by collectors for its distinctive painted Roman numerals, rich blue colour and relative rarity compared with standard applied-marker dials. Stored in a PELI 1450 watertight case (not included) in a temperature-controlled room and routinely wound to keep the movement active.
Condition: Excellent.
Very small mark to bottom left lug, fine hairlines to buckle, case sides and acrylic crystal. The watch has been captured using high-resolution and macro photography to provide full transparency of its condition. Macro images can significantly magnify even the smallest details, often making minor imperfections appear more prominent than they are in reality. In person and under normal viewing conditions, any such marks are barely visible and difficult to detect with the naked eye. Imperceptible flaws or minor marks are intentionally revealed, not concealed by me.
