·Hi all,
As I gradually transition from vintage into neo-vintage pieces, I’ve decided to let go of this exceptionally preserved Datejust 6305, which I previously acquired from Eric.
The Highlights:
1. Pristine waffle dial that has aged beautifully to a rich cream tone. I have rarely seen a finer example, unless tucked away in a serious collector’s collection and firmly NFS. All radium lume plots remain intact.
2. Correct MKI handset, including the often-misplaced original-style seconds hand. The seconds hand is personally one of my favourite details on this watch.
3. Original roulette red/black date disc.
4. Original Brevet PLUS sign crown.
5. Original dome crystal.
6. Original white gold fluted bezel. This is the true MKI bezel featuring the distinctive coin-edge profile that is so often replaced with later Datejust bezels, losing much of the watch’s original character. Many surviving examples have also suffered from excessive polishing, but not this one.
7. Semi-bubbleback movement in exceptionally clean and well-preserved condition.
8. Model and serial numbers remain crisp, deep, and fully legible between the lugs.
The Only Negative:
* The Jubilee bracelet is a later 1958 replacement. That said, it remains fully original Rolex and period-correct for the watch.
Price: USD 38,000
Finding a Datejust 6305 in this level of originality and preservation is becoming increasingly difficult, making this a truly special opportunity.
Trades: Only modern Rolex models will be considered, although a straight cash deal is strongly preferred.
