Yes us Europeans know all about quality diets. Because I'm from the UK I bring you a delicacy known as the full English breakfast. 951caac033c576fe725ccf5bf1e2402e.jpg A healthy choice that all our respected workers chose each morning. b4ae7c80b31a47d7b371a147a723f043.jpg

Talk about an unbalanced diet! That plate needs at least another egg, some hot buttered toast and a large pot of tea.

Each evening, before I go to work, we all sit out in alternating patios/backyards and stuff our faces full of Italian bread, tomatoes the color of blood, figs soaked in olive oil and really good wine from one of my neighbors vineyards in Italy. They also make something called "caponata", which you spread on the bread like butter. We eat fresh fennel for desert.
.

You my new hero!
Forget Superman.

My new goal is trying to find a Career Path that allows for wine before work!!

I know it would make things a lot more interesting for me...

My first ever trip to the UK was an eye opener when I went to the hotels breakfast bar. I mean I like beans and mushrooms, but for breakfast? WTH?

Now I sort of dream of eating that kind of breakfast...being limited to 2 eggs a week (A WEEK!) is difficult to say the least. 馃槨

I (((love))) how un-afraid and confident looking these kids are.

It's the hardest job but the most rewarding job when you do it right!

The only time they got upset from the whole process, which was as you can imagine actually quite "earthy", was when I wanted the octopus back from them for prepping. 馃榾

Med cooking part 2

Today we went picking figs and came back with a few kilos. Too many to eat as plain fruit. This time some French and Italian influences added to the local cuisine 馃槈

Fresh from the tree

Local sweet Samos wine and honey

A gentle reduction together with a little vinegar

Figs stuffed with some soft goat cheese and wrapped in bacon

Together with the reduced syrup

A half hour in the oven

Being of course timed to perfection 馃槈

Being 37c today, we'll let these cool off to room temperature before proceeding

True multi culturism..Greek figs topped with Italian mascapone, enjoying a view of the Turkish coast, about to be eaten by a family comprising Dutch, English, Ivorian and Polish blood!!

Ha, we were missing a crunch, so now finished with some almonds 馃榾

Holy crap, you are JACKED.

Let me tell you something - my boy will be wrestling NCAA division 1 next year @ 157 (so, his walk around weight is ~170 and around 8.5% body fat).

If you know anything about wrestling you know collegiate wrestlers have powerful hips and legs - he crushes perfect form 315 squats ass-to-the-floor for high reps.

You look like you could eat him for breakfast 馃榾 and he's a serious ass kicker. You're built less like a cyclist and more like a Greco-Roman wrestler. Jacked! You appear to have remarkable muscle maturity and well developed muscle bellies...were or are you still a pro athlete?

-Rich
@citizenrich...thanks for the words, sir...I don't know anything about wrestling so I think your son would be eating me for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I was never a pro athlete...just a former middle school/high school/collegiate/military middle distance runner (400m/800m/1600m) who dropped running later in life (due to beat up knees/ankles/feet) and picked up bicycle road racing 4 years ago at age 47. I'm just an intermediate level (CAT 3) amateur road racer...who can't sprint, climb or corner...who blows up after surge number 2 or 3 in road races/criteriums...and who overall exhibits terrible tactics...which really ticks off my team mates. So I specialize in shorter road time trials (about 10 - 15 miles) where I do OK. 馃憤

I hope to get some fresh figs and all the fixin's, and do it myself, sometime (since I won't be able to make the Turkish Coast anytime soon...馃檨)..

The weather here in the Northeastern, USA (not certain of your exact geographic location) has been pretty close to perfect. Low humidity, nice summer breezes.

Completely staged photograph!
It's obvious the water bottles contain no Dunkin' Donuts coffee.

@Time Exposure...once fall/winter arrives, I often have DD coffee in the bottles during base miles training rides. After all, DD is one of our team sponsors and we sport the DD logo on the back of our team jersey. 馃憤
