I've seen the watches for sale in some local forums. I saw 4 for sale in one local watch forum, no doubt price is competitive beiing discount. Good new for those looking to own this model. Be a bit more patient. 😀
To be honest, I was not too impressed initially. But these "grew" on me as I saw more and more pics on line 😀 and the one that did it was a piece on a steel bracelet. Man, the contrast between that blue and the steel bracelet just did it. And I bought a piece.
Great pics. I bought my blue CK 2998 from an Omega AD in Aruba in December 2018. Not sure why it hadn't been sold previously but was glad to get it at nice discount. It's a really nice watch for casual wear, the opaline dial with blue subdials and blue ceramic bezel makes for a sharp look. Can't be too many 2016 versions still in dealer's stock 2.5 years after they hit the showrooms.
It's weird - I just stumbled onto a very-hard-to-find 2018 2098 LE (black on white; red main seconds hand) at an AD local mall jeweler, long after every Omega Boutique I contacted said it was long out of stock. Guess it pays to keep your eyes open.
I've only had the blue CK2998 for three weeks but the use of a pin buckle on a Speedmaster just seems wrong and incomplete. I know it's based on history and all that but c'mon, this is a sports watch and not a dress watch. Plus my wrist size is 7.5" and I had to use the 3rd hole from the end which left a fairly short piece of strap to put through the strap keepers, and it put the buckle well off center. Somewhere on this site there was a reference to a blue textile Omega strap for use with the Omega deployant clasp that would fit the CK. Last week I stopped in to the OB in San Antonio, TX and expected to be disappointed. But, lo, they actually had the strap in stock, but didn't have the buckle so they took one off one of their in-stock watches.
The textile strap is just about the same color and tone of the croc strap and has white stitching with a very soft black inner lining. It makes it a little less dressy than the croc strap but not overly so, but the big improvement is now I have the great Omega deployant clasp more in tune with the watches look and mission, and it fits my wrist perfectly. Combo was $460 + tax, completely worth it imo. This watch should come from the factory set up this way.
By the way, if anyone is hunting down the 2018 limited edition w/pulsometer bezel, one is apparently available at Watches of Switzerland Las Vegas. It’s on the store’s website and can be purchased over the phone.

Bought two of those last year. One I am wearing, the other one is still BNIB. Watch is located in the Netherlands. No premium on list. I intend to put it on sale here in coming weeks, just need to find time to take some descent pictures.
