Happy 2017!!! If Santa did not delivered what you really wanted, here is your chance to own a future Speedmaster collector watch! For sale ($5,200 shipped, NET) I have my Like New in Box (LNIB) Omega Speedmaster CK2998 limited edition, reference 311.33.40.30.02.001, number 226X of 2998 pieces. Something caught my eye and this beauty needs to go, placing it for sale at a very competitive price for a quick sale. I bought it 2 weeks ago brand new (AD stamped card date is October 2016, carries the full 2 year Omega international warranty, valid until October 2018) and am only listing it as LNIB instead or new since tried it home on a brown Barenia leather band and took some pictures with it (see pictures below, the Barenia band is not included with sale). The blue leather band is unworn. The watch is truly like new condition: no marks, swirls, etc anywhere that I can see (check pictures below; excuse any dust particle or fingerprint on any of them), could easily pass as brand new. The lume color of the minute hand has a blueish tone which seems to be rare (The first batch of CK2998’s had green lume dial, hands and bezel, but some CK's have been reported with blue lume on the hour and minute hands or a combination of blue and green lume in the hands like mine; perhaps something that will make it increase more in value through time; some information about it can be found here: https://omegaforums.net/threads/ck2998-lume-color-handset.46780/page-5#post-599852). Few important points about the bracelet options of the CK2998 are: 1- Even though the CK2998 (as well as the Sedna gold and the First Omega in Space straight leg Speedmaster series) use a 19 mm band size, 20 mm leather bands can easily be fitted to the case (the Barenia leather band shown is 20 mm). 2- The reference 1564/975 or 1565/976 19 mm stainless steel bracelet found on the Omega Speedmaster racing series watches is a direct fit for the CK2998 (As well as other more vintage looking steel bracelets with the correct end pieces, more information about this can be found here: http://forums.watchuseek.com/f20/steel-bracelet-first-omega-space-speedy-2503722.html) so you can easily add a steel bracelet at a later time. CK2998 Model Details: The CK2998 was released on Basel 2016 (and already sold out according to Omega, if lucky you could find one in an AD at MSRP of $6500 plus tax) does not need much introduction, but you can find information on the following link from the Omega web site: https://www.omegawatches.com/watches/speedmaster/moonwatch/chronograph-397-mm/31133403002001/ Features (from Omega website): "The original OMEGA Speedmaster CK2998 was released in 1959. Today, this classic design has been used as inspiration for a new Limited Edition model. The timepiece features a stainless steel case with a polished blue ceramic bezel with a white Super-LumiNova tachymeter scale. The rich blue colour is also included on the subdials and minutes track, which encircles a central opaline silvery dial. The subdials include a small-seconds recorder at 9H, a 30-minute recorder at 3H, and a 12-hour recorder at 6H. Along with the applied indexes, the Alpha hands are all rhodium-plated, as is the "lollipop" chronograph seconds hand that is reminiscent of the original model. The hour, minute and seconds hands are all coated in Super-LumiNova. For a unique touch, the caseback includes the original Seahorse emblem, along with special engravings including "SPEEDMASTER", "CK 2998" and "LIMITED EDITION". To complete this remarkable watch, there is a blue leather strap with beige stitching, and a central core driven by the original OMEGA calibre 1861."
