I recently acquired this early 80s pre-Tag diver that I’m hoping to breathe life in. I believe the native movement was a ESA 963.114 which is now obsolete. It’s my understanding that the ISA 1198.32 with 3 o’clock date supplanted it and is a direct fit. I’m hoping to get confirmation of this. I’m also hoping someone can lead me in the right direction toward finding proper hands as I don’t know the dimensions that would fit the ISA and still work for this watch. Thanks in advance!

I remember reading (iirc) that these dive cases are able to take a ETA 2824 as well

Recall this style of case came in two designs:
    1. Heuer 980.006
    2. Heuer 980.006L which is thinner cased

Thus they both utilized different movements. Are you certain the ETA 2824 would fit the 980.006L?

    Don't you have a watchmaker?

Yes Tom but he prefers to focus on servicing the movement. He likely won’t know what the correct hand lengths should be per OEM specs.

Find a different watchmaker. I know a guy, I'll ask him.

And he can’t access this information from where people here would find it.

I would try our sister forum with the same log in as here ;)

Great suggestion. Justin expediently got this jumbo Heuer up and running for a reasonable price. Excellent communication as well!
