Yeh, that one sold very quickly
The bracelet and end links alone are worth $250. Meaning someone got the watch for $1k.

Someone got the first cousin discount.

Yeh that's a bit crazy!
Doesn’t make much sense. Spend the bit extra and get one in that’s at least in working order

Yeah, that or they stole the other half of the bracelet/clasp to fix another watch.

I'm a little shocked it is going as high as it is. It is a non-running watch with a broken watch and really unknown quality dial. The case is at least unpolished, but lugs are pretty scratched up.

HALF of me is hoping i DO get outbid with how high this is going, since I'd prefer a gold filled/capped/whatever one anyway.
Sold for $1700. Were you the buyer?

Yeah, that is insane. I had a few beers during the football game and made a 'dumb' bid of $1425, which was winning until the last moment, then it exploded! Glad I missed out.

Maybe someone had more beers than you and done the same! haha

I don’t think it’s unreasonable, after it’s serviced it’ll look better than 90% of the dealer prepped doglegs that are being sold for well over 2k, so while not a bargain it’ll be a nice end result

🇺🇸 vintage Omega Geneve Cal 601 in steel going no reserve

https://www.ebay.com/itm/257300917689

SO, I ended up winning this one, not horribly priced, and showed up today. Runs, but not well based on the timegrapher.

However, they state: "Case back doesn't unscrew." in the listing. HOLY CRAP they aren't kidding. I managed to break ALL of my case back tools (including the chinese 'press' style) working on it today, all of the little 'pin' tools ended up snapping off trying it.

I tried heat, cold, and supergluing a nut onto it, all of which failed. I'm currently giving "superglue socket + impact gun" a try, but waiting on the superglue to cure to give this a go.

Honestly, I have no idea how this managed to be this stuck. Whether it is cross-threaded, or just corroded into 1, this one might have been trouble!
