Speaking of Seamaster Day Dates like the one above, I just uploaded this on @pdxleaf 鈥檚 Seamaster Sparkle Cal 751 bought from this thread:

Finally picked it up. We met at a hotel near an airport, as the seller is flying out on vacation.

Fun time talking about our mutual interests. Seller is not an online guy, just likes watches. He was wearing his GMT that he bought new in 2002, sheepishly admitting it was because Tom Selleck worn one. Funny thing is he wears it traveling because he says people ignore it and never comment on it, which isn't what I had been led to think. Never polished, but not babied (goes in the ocean.)

He traded some leather chaps from the 1940s for this Seamaster about 15 years ago. Said he wishes he kept the chaps.

The watch is very good, worn as expected, but with strong edges and intact brushing. As delivered, it had plenty of DNA and some crystal swirls.

Here's it after some soap and a crystal polish.

It runs with no winding the crown. In fact, the crown is so small I don't think I could hand wind it. The quick set date doesn't work, although the crown pulls all the way out.

Plan is to swap an English day wheel, get it serviced and hopefully fix the quick set date. Probably wear it on a leather strap.

All in all, a pleasant experience and a nice watch. Probably see it in future WRUW.

Thanks, Ash, for the tip.

Looks great mate, that end-on view of the lugs looks very sharp, it actually looks oddly similar to the new Planet Ocean case from that angle:

(I know this is off topic, it will return to normal content in this thread after this)
