Would just like to add a couple things about this listing.

This listing needs more pictures to determine what exact watch collection/model it is. Without additional pictures, can't determine if this is a Frankenstein or not.

Listing title states it is a Seamaster 166.037 but on Omega's official vintage watch database, the 166.0037 (often times the case reference number has an extra "0") is a Seamaster but caliber 565 not 563. The case reference number 166.037 was only made using caliber 565, so the watch can't be a case reference 166.037 and have a 563 caliber.

https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watch-omega-seamaster-omega-st-166-0037

In addition the 166.037, is in the Seamaster collection and not the Geneve collection. So if it is a true 166.037, the dial should be a Seamaster dial not a Geneve dial. However, the Geneve collection was often made with the 563 caliber but not placed in a 166.037 stainless steel case.

So would need more pictures of the inside of the case back and the caliber.

I'm no professionally trained Omega watchmaker, but my best guess is that this is a Geneve dial and 563 caliber with 17 jewels (which is less than the 24 jewels in a Seamaster 565 caliber) put into a Seamaster 166.037 case.

I may be completely wrong, but these are the parts manuals for the 563 and 565 calibers. The two calibers are essentially the same and are interchangeable.

So the 563 is the 17 jewel version of the 565 for certain markets, many watches will have the 565 in the rest of the world and 563 in the US for tax reason for example.

The 166.037 can be found signed as Seamaster, Geneve and even Seamaster Geneve (both), there are quite a few oddball references shared between the Seamaster and Geneve like that.

13 hours left, currently at $4,800 which is a lot, but considering it's an early snapback Deluxe in 18K gold, these are the references most susceptible to moisture damage, and most polished, making this one's condition quite rare, fewer of these were made than later Deluxe models too so I'm not surprised this one is going for a high price

$4900 was cheap IMHO....this one was actually in rose gold!
