Vintage Seamaster Cal 562 on BoR going no reserve with nice vertically brushed dial

https://www.ebay.com/itm/235656328277

Wondering about the dial on this one. I cant find any Ref 166.009 that has a dial with single stroke at the 12 o’ clock.

Possible redial?

Nice vintage 145.022-71 Cal 861 going no reserve in 12 hours, currently at $2.5k. These are superb value with a great vintage feel for a Moonwatch and among the cheapest ways to get into a Speedy Pro which is pretty cool.

Decent Speedmaster Pro Cal 861 145.022-71 going no reserve

https://www.ebay.com/itm/387144975474

Experts,
Does the lume look correct on this? The hour markers at 3, 4, 7,10 & 11 look sloppy to my untrained eye. Is it more likely to be a possible relume, natural degradation, or poor photo with distortion from the crystal?
Thoughts? Thanks!!

I've had a similar problem with my Ed White where I take pictures and the lume looks awful but under 10 power magnification it looks much better.

Speedmaster101 has the 145.022-71 at 3000 for fair, 4500 for good (I believe that's head only) and 1171's go for 300-500, though this one is slightly stretched by the endlinks. It looks to have a pretty nice dial (hard to see the steps, but looks correct, and the lume plots look appropriately aged) and bezel (that looks correct to me, DN90, Large tachy, serif 70), the minute hand lume appears to have all fallen out. This, to my new eyes, to fall somewhere between fair and good. What seems reasonable to bid, as it's currently 2.5, but I bet it'll go up quite a bit.

It does appear the lume was aftermarket, or omega was really sloppy with this dial.

other than a collectors watch though, I’m not sure if that would be a total put off for me. I would have it touched up as long as the dial is in great condition. Some of the people applying lume right now are artists in their own right.

I've seen many references, 145.022 and older, that have messy/algae lume. not sure what the cause is, but that's what I've noticed.

Looks like natural degradation to me. That would be consistent with the lume being gone from the minute hand. IMO not a bad deal, though … still around $2,600 with four hours left. I’d expect it to hammer around $3,200, maybe $3,500 tops.

The there’s a lot of stock of early 861 moonwatches so it’s worth being patient and you’ll find one

Good advice. Seems like there have been some decent vintage 861 Speedmasters selling in the mid-3000’s lately. And even some later stuff selling at good prices … recently a Speedmaster Pro (311.30.42.30.01.005), big box full kit, 2019 warranty card, went for $3,850.

166.009. One of my favorite 1960's Seamaster references. I've owned two. These are great watches. With the BOR, this will be a very good deal if it stays under $700 USD.
