I think the reason this one may go for well below market is that there is no picture that shows the "14K Solid Gold" hallmark on the outside of the case that you would expect to see in between the lugs. It would have been so simple for the seller to remove the band to show this. Seems a bit odd to me.

There really is no way to tell the difference between solid and gold-filled without that hallmark, or a view inside the caseback.

Seller has good feedback, so I'm reasonably confident that it is what they say it is. But still a gamble.

The inscription undoubtedly also detracts from the watch and I expect it needs a new crystal. On the plus side it comes with a NOS Omega leather strap and buckle.

Yea its a return if it isn’t 14k and it is annoying that they did that but one would hope they wouldn’t say so unless they had seen it between lugs themselves or it will be an easy claim

This is a UK domestic market 18K solid gold Dennison made case Seamaster De Ville with a nice vertical brushed dial and Cal 562, while not Swiss cases, these British Dennison cases tend to be very good and don’t skimp on gold content or weight. Crown is a replacement but that isn’t too hard to remedy.

This one’s very unusual, Geneve 166.070 in 18K solid gold, they’re nearly all gold-plated, Cal 565, replacement crown but otherwise quite nice with sharp edges

https://www.ebay.com/itm/335162545689

11 hours left on this in 18k gold, still only $500

This one is very cool, gold-filled Seamaster De Ville but its a Kleerback, and it has a special four sector dial, some minor wear on the lugs but still very worth it for this one

Wrote about these here: https://stories.omegaforums.net/seamaster-deville-kleerback-kl-6292-vb/

Very nice, I've always wanted a Kleerback....but this one's already over $900 and in the US....so I guess I'll just have to wait a bit longer...

3 hours left, up to $965, probably worth around the low $1000s or so
Looks like I got it for $975. Thanks Ash!

P.S. any thoughts on where I can get the correct 18K crown?

It wouldn’t be an 18k crown, it just needs an Omega signed knurled crown like this one:

Quite an uncommon watch that one, being an entry level piece in 18k with a Swiss case, definitely get it off that crappy twist-o-flex asap to protect the lugs from damage, I’d just cut it off rather than mess around and risk more scratches

Thats a great price. I wish the seller included some higher resolution pictures of the dial and hands (and offered postage to Australia!)

And a few hundred less than it went for the first auction. I’ll post some pictures when it arrives.

From the cheap end of the pool, a nice little Cosmic in steel with a case-back engraving but quite nice shape on a crummy twist-o-flex, cal 563/565

Hello, congrats to whoever picked this one up. I’ve always been a fan of the 1970s dial that looks like a vinyl record. Looks like this is a nice piece.

Very clean 18K solid gold UK domestic production case Constellation C-Case with solid gold linen dial going no reserve

https://www.ebay.com/itm/386437554692

So with this C-Case, its a domestic case, but a good quality one being Dennison in nice shape, I’d guess around $2200 would be the money in the US, its already at almost that right now but being a UK watch I’d say its probably got room to go 10-20% higher due to the UK’s position with VAT being unavoidable on anything imported. That plus the very good condition could see it going a bit higher as well.
