What would you consider the top end in this one, Ash?
Just got back from an event but it went cheap, even with the cost of servicing which is higher on Cal 865s than a 3-hand as it’s a chronograph really, that price is very decent. Its not a perfect example but very wearable and with potential.
I came ever so close to pulling the trigger in the last seconds…my naïveté in an Omega watch world that has a steep learning curve held me back. I’ll chalk this one up to another learning experience and continue the learning pursuit. Learning movements and what they mean has to be higher on my study list. Thanks.
Hi, I am looking for an Omega for my husbands 50th Birthday, I have been searching the forums for tips on fakes but it seems a bit of a minefield for a novice like me! I am now following the links you are posting for eBay so fingers crossed from your very helpful posts I will find something 😀
Hello!
When buying privately via eBay, there is of course already a risk, good that you look here for recommendations. But you should definitely still take into account that the watch needs a revision. Where are you from and what exactly are you looking for?
Many greetings, Andreas
Vintage Omega Seamaster 166.067 Cal 565 in gold-cap with a nice clean dial and case in the UK

This really nice one in the UK goes off in 8 hours, currently 235 GBP but will definitely be more than that by the end
Does your husband already have other vintage watches? Vintages are usually much smaller than current watches.
For up to 800 GBP you can find great watches in any case. E.g. a Seamaster 600 or a De Ville. From my collection for example: Both watches are between 34 and 35 mm in size and privately priced within the range.
I wrote about these here if you’re interested: https://stories.omegaforums.net/chronostop-part-1-geneve-chronostop-rare-japanese-variants/

Firstly, thanks for all you do here😀
Do you have any idea on the year it was manufactured? Also, any idea on the bracelet?
Geneve 166.041 with later non-applied dial variant on BoR, terrible photos and scratched crystal which may keep the price low, these are a nice value entry piece

This one goes off in 15 minutes, the scratches appear to be on the crystal so its a decent Cal 552 automatic Geneve with just a wrong crown going very cheap at $149 USD
