No way it is a 69. The earliest case back like that is mid 1971.
OK, let's rephrase this one then...

Nice early 70's Speedmaster, mislabeled as a '69.馃榾

It is rare that I see a Constellation Pie-Pan about which I have a good feeling without seeing hi-rez pictures from every angle.

This is one:

No idea what the reserve is, but I suspect that it may hold bidding down until the last minute. Perhaps the seller could be pursuaded to post some additional shots before the end of the auction next week.

Hello,
I am completely new to the forum.
My wife wants to buy me a second-hand Omega watch for Christmas. She wants me to pull the trigger on one of these watches below, but I'm still hesitant because of what I have read here so far. Please give me input on how to evaluate a listing critically for fake, poor condition, overpricing, etc... Thank you!

Here are a couple of others that look interesting and in my price range:

Is it safe to assume that buying from an ebay store is safer than from an individual? Most of the watches in this price range are listed by "watchwholesale" or "hiroki-japan"

Xolair, welcome to the forum. This thread is meant for vintage omegas that have been vetted, and is not for enquiries (as the title states). Mods, could you move this to the appropriate sub forum? Thanks.

I understand you are new, but this thread is for watches that knowledgible people are recommending others buy, hence the not enquiries in the title. The third one you listed looks OK from the outside, I think the dial is original. Personally I do not like the look of the dial in the second one, it looks like the lume is falling off outside of the markers. The dial on the first one has been repainted and therefore has not interest to a vintage watch collector. And the pics of the last one are very grainy.

Not a bad 69 Speedy, DON bezel, 1039 with 516 endlinks, nice dial and hands

Regardless of this particular watch, I would never buy from this seller. 2 years ago he sold a well-known bubbleback fake (likely made in China, the one featured in the Dowling & Hess book), and when I confronted him about it, refused to pull it and merely wrote to me "if you have concerns about the watch, please do not bid" (I kid you not).

Another of the many who maintain a 100% feedback 馃槨
