Always enjoy when these come up in this thread. Bought this same reference off this very same eBay thread a few years ago—it’s now my only nice watch, which I wear every day. Love the fact that it flies under the radar as just another nice Omega diver from a distance, but then when you really look at it up close you get a fun pop of several colors. Likewise the pattern on the dial is barely noticeable unless you look closely in the right light. So it’s muted with lots of surprises--the fully lumed bezel is another one (everything but the numbers glows--all but the pip glow blue; the pip itself glows green, like the minute hand--I've never owned a watch with better, more useful lume). Great bezel action, perfect size (they hit the sweet spot with this gen of SMPs), ceramic… I’ve felt no need to get anything else since, and I’ve never seen another one “out there” in the metal. I put mine on the Aqua Terra 1574/898 bracelet--oyster style--and am keeping the original SMP bracelet in the box---prefer the oyster with hidden clasp. There's an Olympics logo on the caseback, but aside from that there's nothing gimmicky that announces itself to the world as an "occasion" piece. It's a great, fun, everyday watch---and isn't so rare or valuable that it needs to be preserved or babied.

Wouldn’t pay more than $4k for it even as a full set. And if you snag it for under 3, it's a no-brainer, even with the cost of a fresh service (which I had done).

Wow that's sharp looking style
I have one of those that I picked up a few months ago. They are REALLY gorgeous! Fortunately, there are quite a few available in various for-sale forums around.
