Thats the part that makes people ask "Why are you wearing a red hockey puck" at which point you can explain that if you were ejected into outer space or cooked in an autoclave you might be dead but your watch would survive.
Which is a perfectly reasonable and rational answer IMO. Be Prepared as the scouts say.
