Pushing your own watch as recommended, eh? Start the countdown to deletion!
And the single bid that鈥檚 currently on it is from a 0 feedback account... rather fishy 馃槖

Over-priced from the start. I wonder if the seller has any Invictas he'd like to sell?

Lovely All Guard IMO. Note that there is a personalized engraving, if that bothers you.

Dial looks nice, but the crown is a replacement.

I was thinking that also. Thanks for pointing it out.

Greetings everyone,

Could people kindly refrain from posting live auctions here and stick to BINs?
True Longinnes enthusiasts may be onto those live auctions and it's really not helping them to be broadcasting them to all of the lurkers and professionals who read the forum wihtout participating. And I know there are many.

There are some people who have spent hours and years studying certain models and acquiring knowledge.
Their efforts to monitor various auctions to find gems before others do are being completely undermined by people posting watches they're not even interested in.
I actually think threads such as this one were created in a different time and are now obsolete.
Whenever we see a good deal we have to assume someone who cares deeply is already onto it -- and by publicizing it we're spoiling the efforts of those who care the most who took the time to educate themselves.
And when we're posting a live auction we're increasing the final price for those people.
If you really want to let someone know, then do it privately !

@gatorcpa @cicindela @kyle L what do you think ?
Thanks for your attention and best regards,
S

Certainly a valid perspective, and I know it is official policy at MWR. I don't think I've seen this as an official policy at OF, so I think it is deserving of some open discussion.

There is no official policy at MWR on this matter.
Not everything has to be an official rule, by the way.

Totally agree, and I'm sorry if I misunderstood the MWR policy. I'm not arguing with you, I know you are a moderator there. However, I have definitely seen MWR moderators remove links to live auctions, so it seems to be a de facto policy even if it's not written into the rules.

Sorry, I am for free speech. Don鈥檛 want to see this place become another TimeZone.

We should be able to discuss the good and the bad equally. BTW, if we were to ban eBay listings, we鈥檇 also have to ban links to regular auctions as well. How would we criticize all the fakes and Frankens then?

When I find something I鈥檓 interested in, it simply goes on the eBay watch list quietly.

I鈥檇 say less than 50% of my finds get outed.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, my intent was not at all to advocate a general rule which would ban discussing frankens and fakes, I鈥檓 talking about this particular thread which does the contrary.
I don鈥檛 even think a hard and fast rule is needed, IMHO it鈥檚 simple common sense and courtesy. And so with your endorsement of free speech I will take the liberty to speak out (politely of course) against it whenever I see it. I find it unfair, and inconsiderate.
Best regards

Never thought about that, good point, worthy to be discussed.
