Nice condition. These cases are quite heavy, but what kind of imbecile melts down such a nice watch?!
Might have been that way since the early 1980's. A lot of nice watch cases were melted down when gold reached $800/oz. back then. I thought those dials were 18K gold also. gatorcpa
That's of course possible, however I reckon that the chances, that a dial with hands so nice and a crown so desired not being buikd in, are rather slim.
I was following that auction. Someone has a nice replacement dial (+ crown!) for his Deluxe (and a fine spare movement)
Smallish, but awfully nice, and for not a lot of money... http://www.ebay.com/itm/ALL-ORIG-40...933592?hash=item2812f7fbd8:g:cJgAAOSwKtVW0xg~Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
