Although eBay had been broken again, this one just popped up:

Cheap diver alert- One of the many Paul’s chrome plated diver with some kind of 17 jeweled movement. I only post these if they are in great shape and a great price- this is both.

Now….if you can just find me a no-date version…😉…oh, and steel case, please.::rimshot::

Ok, maybe eBay is not totally broken, but partially broken.
I rarely post quartz watches, very few get a pass- this is one of them since it is a military watch.

Marathon Navigator- this one is 2006 so has the more modern sterile dial with the H3 Rad on it. These are Tritium filled tubes for dial and hands but as they are 15 years old, they are probably fairly dim by this point. I got one of these for my wife years ago to wear for a work beater and she loves it- incredibly light weight (composite) and indestructible. The spring bars are captured so only single pass or crimp on straps.
These are readily available from several vendors new (including direct from Marathon) around $400, so this is a nice price for a used one (don’t worry about box and papers- factory box is a cardboard sleeve and papers is one piece printed on a slip of white bond paper) and has make offer

Similar - not such a find but in UK.
I do love the cushion case, plating is in nice shape, red date wheel with cyclops. The tachy scale is funny though…it’s a diver!

I love this Wittnauer diver with steel case 😀but has date
Saw that one when it came up- has some corrosion on the back from a low ph sweater. Plus it’s an active auction so it won’t stay cheap.

This is equally insulting and disgusting and therefore very funny.
We want more.
We always have to remember that someone else wore our watches before us. Not all had the best diet and lifestyle.

Back on topic though. Anyone fancy a very fancy watch for the missus, priced just shy of any fashion shitter found in the mall?
Throw some new gaskets on this baby and it's indestructible. Eterna production quality was all the way up there.

I think if there is ever an OF limited edition watch, it should be called this

Interesting listing since this it’s a reseller of stuff listed on Japanese flea market site Mercari and the price doubled.
That’s why the spelling is up the creek- it’s machine transliterated/translated.

There are loads of these dubious listings. I imagine you get the item in the end but they’re just buying it off another site and pocketing the difference!

That's bad business. I like to say fυck the middle man, so consider my suggestion revoked.
How'd you find this scheme out?

Yes its nasty little scam basically, and it is rife and I would be wary of most listings in Japan for this reason.
People are just paid a few yen to write up the explanations in usually excruciating or MT'd English, steal the photos and list it. I think they get a cut if they sell it.
I just noticed that pieces I saw on flea market sites were appearing on Ebay for double the price, this one I had looked at myself and recognized it. Usually the prices are so inflated it is laughable, but not this time.
Sometimes you will see the same watch listed a few times with different sellers that is a giveaway.
Even if you bought it, if it was a good piece it is probably already gone on the flea market app anyway, they hardly monitor the listings to see what sells.

If in doubt about any item from Japan PM me and I will happily peruse the local sites to make sure its not a rip off.

It’s not really a “scam”— I believe it could be called simply doing business. If someone gets a watch they want at a price they are comfortable with, where’s the harm?

A fantastic example of mid-century modern design (with a bit of that Polerouter aesthetic) on the 'Bay:
Thanks to the cat who pointed out this one. Arrived the other day. Case and hands/furniture are different shades of gold.
