Mine says hi...these are TERRIFIC watches. Mine needed a service - but quartz services are cheap. I prefer to keep it original - and for some reason, I have the feeling an 80s movement is tougher than a new one...

Try to find one on an original strap...NATO like but without all the extra length/wrap back - and a pretty cool buckle.

Like this one? 1989. Original strap? Needs attention

Thank you for the alert, the Prätina just arrived in her new home 😀

Awesome. Now that you have that Pratina, you can send me the MKII. I’ll be sitting by my mailbox waiting for it.

What, a whole day without a post in this thread. I need my fix! This thread is one of the main reasons I keep coming back every day.

Now, where's a good Wyler?

Sorry if this one has already been posted. The case has some wear, but it's a nice watch for our European friends.

For those of you who have a late-1960s Tissot Seastar (with the rally bracelet 😎), here is your chance to get the rare box that the watch came with:

The watch that came in the box would have looked like this (from a 1969 catalog):

It’s on the slightly smaller side at 34mm with the crown. Here is the translated listing

“Old watch from the Kardex brand (belonging to the Universal Genve). Full stainless steel diver's watch with a 25-jewel PUW 1360 Aurotor caliber. The clock works, however the balance seems stuck, it needs a good cleaning and fine tuning. It has a cadet size of 34mm with the crown.

Certified international shipments are made
Please note that this is an unrestored antique watch.”

Better go check again, I just got the time machine ::psy::

So let me get this straight, you got a time machine and you used it to take some Zodiac and Bulova watches out from under your buddy's nose? You didn't think about buying picking up a classic Submariner or Seamster 300 for a couple hundred bucks?

Not knocking either the Snorkel or the Seawolf. Both very under-rated, but good examples can be had for 3 figures. Buy a 6538 Submariner, sell it, pay off your house, and have enough cash left over for all the Snorkels and Seawolfs you want.
