I passed on an 6536 in an antique store in 2001 for $400, I knew it was a strangely small submariner, but didn’t know what it was at the time and was just out of college- I didn’t have $400. Little did I know I probably could have paid off my student loans with that watch....who am I kidding, I would still have it had I known.
Does that time machine go to 2001 so I can slap my then-self?

Bulova Snorkel from the UkPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network. Trying to cut down on purchases. Love the strap with its metal lined buckle holes. But maybe strap not original to the watch?

Zodiac Seawolf Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner NetworkGreat looking watch with the hands matching the triangles at 6 9 12 Beware as not much information on it. Is that moisture residue on the mechanism?

@JwRosenthal is your man for advice on these but my gut feeling is that £725 is top end for an all original high quality example. This case is a little soft and bracelet not original.
Still make an offer is available

Edit Of course @hmmmcamu is the overall expert

Wrong second hand and lord knows what’s happened to the bezel. Looks like whole watch has had a fight with a polishing wheel...and lost. Dial looks damaged from water ingress.

Would have to be cheap. Also potentially a cannon pinion issue on these.
And it’s not a Bakelite bezel as per description!

Sorry to disappoint on both but the Snorkel is rough- missing lume at 12/6/9, someone tried to fill in the bezel hash marks with paint and the bracelet is not factory.
The Seawolf has been repainted- poorly. That’s not Lume on the indices, they painted it yellow and then painted the numbers- on a trashed dial.

I would only buy these for movement parts- no more than $100 each, perhaps I would pay a little more for the snorkel ($150) and have the dial relumed, strip the paint on the bezel and fix what’s wrong with it-it could be a nice looking watch but good money after bad.

Def not original bracelet! Lume loss on dial. Looks complete and original parts. Someone has tried to re-ink the bezel badly but this can be fixed.

Yes you do. Make it a habit to look up every vintage watch you see that looks appealing. Find as many comps as you can and you will see similarities - as well as the flaws on ones you may be looking at. In time you will have laser vision looking at any of the watches you love and be able to snatch the good ones up quickly.

It’s a cutie for $50. Possibly Japanese movement. Seller says keeping perfect time but it’s not running from one shot to the next....hmmm

That might be true but over the course of the entire listing images, the watch only gained one minute with the seconds hand largely staying in one section of the dial.

With the low quality of that presentation I seriously doubt they spent more than a minute taking those pics.
