I’ve always liked these, and I do have a small collection of Mil-watches (US), but have held off since I wanted to fill the W10 desire (Smiths, CWC and Hammy) before getting a G10...I feel I missed the boat on those- these may be the last value Mil watches left

Mine says hi...these are TERRIFIC watches. Mine needed a service - but quartz services are cheap. I prefer to keep it original - and for some reason, I have the feeling an 80s movement is tougher than a new one...

Try to find one on an original strap...NATO like but without all the extra length/wrap back - and a pretty cool buckle.

I collect these - they are cheap! . Used to get them from Uk Army surplus stores. £30-50. Prices are higher now but you can still get them occasionally. I last got a 1985 T dial for under $100 last year that way. Standard ETA movements in later a straight swap. Fixed lugs suits NATO. Cheap milspec option. I wrote up on them here https://chronopedia.club/CWC_G10

Thanks for putting that page together!

One problem with this explanation is that eBay hasn't had an auction site in Japan since 2002
What does a Japanese eBay have to do with it? I usually see this with Yahoo Japan auction items being relisted on US eBay, but there was a thread here recently about it being done for a watch for sale from a dealer site.

Personally I don't have a problem with this, for a US customer who doesn't know how to find and buy from Japan, it's a service. For the true seller, it gives more potential customers.

I've bought one watch after finding it on eBay and then tracking down the source auction on Yahoo Japan.

That looks like the same watch, and confirms my belief that the dealer, who may not speak English, is working in collaboration with a couple of Japanese eBay sellers who do, in order to expand his market. No arbitrage, no photo theft.

I just copied the pic and was about to post that Hammy- that’s a diamond in the rough!

Ok here's one... to be honest I don't follow these well enough to know if this is a "good deal," but since it includes a "make an offer," I figure it could be. I just like the '70s funk factor. Groovy case shape and unusual dial color. Looks to be in good original condition:

I can see the attraction but would be nervous:-

Looks a bit too much like one of the Korean special dials

Claims serviced but no movement shot

Something about the description "all original parts" concerns me. Original omega, original to that watch? Not sure what it means

No feedback as a seller and no other items for sale

2 photos only and not great ones at that

Sellers name looks like a computer generated random name.

Probably all fine but all the above accumulation of issues get my senses tingling.

you could send questions in to the seller but don't think it's for me.

Take care.

All good points. I should have added that I don't know anything about these models, either 😗

For those interested in renewing a G10 watch, there are the proper swiss movements available on Ebay.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-ET...800375?hash=item3fe53b2d77:g:UAEAAOSwCP5fD0Vd
This was for the three hand version there are also two hand versions of this movement available.
Note these wont work with the earlier models with offset caseback for battery....they have a 947.111 which is NLA. If anyone sees a NOS please grab it for me! I have a few pre-1983 which are in need of a donor.

OF Bargain Alert:

Our very own @DaveK is selling a watch. This one a nice stainless number with recently serviced AS movement which probably cost more to service than he is asking.

He says the lugs are “sharp and confident”, but I would go further in saying they are proud, strong and will enhance your sexual prowess. He says the dial is “playful” as it catches the light, but I would suggest whimsical and impish perhaps as the descriptors.
Regardless of superlatives- this is a nice watch for little money, that’s serviced and ready to roll. Best of all, it’s from a guy we all know and love.
