Stainless Paul Raynard (another one of the Paul’s). Good size at 34mm for this form factor (slim bezel, lots of dial) and should clean up. Hopefully date is just flipping at the time of photo and not a problem. Under $100 asking and has make offer.

Did you notice the exact same images are being used in listings by three different sellers.

    Fixer-upper opportunity-

Fantastic looking square Elgin Shockmaster with fancy curved lugs- the dial is beautiful! US made adjusted movement- parts movements are abundant for these and service is easy for any skilled watchmaker. Seller says 31mm which is decent size for this style. This could be a cool watch for $40.

I’m not one for Quartz watches but I make exceptions for some special watches where there wasn’t an alternative (i.e 90’s Tag or Mil watches spec’s as quartz). This is one- CWC MOD watch. This one is from ‘95 so has the “T” in the dial for Tritium as opposed to the “L” of the current ones. New they are £219, so not a huge savings, and it’s 26 years old so most likely needs a service at some point (do you service these or just replace the movement???) Being its tritium, i think it’s more desirable and he has make offer.

This is becoming more common, especially among Japanese sellers. A dealer will have a watch (or a camera, etc.) and will either (a) list it himself under several different eBay IDs, or (b) work in conjunction with several eBay sellers to list the watch. A little bit shady perhaps, but I don't see how it's illegal. Here are a couple of listings for the same Citizen Parashock:

I believe in general there is no relationship or coordination between the actual seller and the middlemen on eBay.

Not sure what you're saying. How is it that the same item, at roughly the same price, with the same photos, appears in several eBay listings if there's no coordination?

And I have direct experience of this. I asked an eBay seller to test a feature in a camera and he said he couldn't because it was at the dealer. I bought the camera and it worked out fine.

Hamilton with shitty pics. Dial is either charcoal or black, lume pips are there so looks like it should be ok. A gamble but may be a gem.

Anybody who has a delivery address in Japan can find a watch listed by a Japanese seller and then list it at a higher price on US eBay; if the US listing sells, buy it from the source in Japan then reship it. If the Japanese one sells first, just drop the US listing, you're out the fee. If you happen to get caught with an eBay sale you can't fulfill, cancel the sale, eBay isn't too punitive in these situations. No need for any coordination, the Japanese seller is probably unaware of your listing or business. And nothing stopping multiple middlemen from making the same arbitrage play.

Stainless Hamilton with linen dial- this thing is a stunner. Seller claims working with 40hr reserve, so that’s good. 32.5mm but this is all dial- probably wears like a 34 Oyster. Grab it fast at $175 because someone will.

I collect these - they are cheap! . Used to get them from Uk Army surplus stores. £30-50. Prices are higher now but you can still get them occasionally. I last got a 1985 T dial for under $100 last year that way. Standard ETA movements in later a straight swap. Fixed lugs suits NATO. Cheap milspec option. I wrote up on them here https://chronopedia.club/CWC_G10

I’ve always liked these, and I do have a small collection of Mil-watches (US), but have held off since I wanted to fill the W10 desire (Smiths, CWC and Hammy) before getting a G10...I feel I missed the boat on those- these may be the last value Mil watches left

One problem with this explanation is that eBay hasn't had an auction site in Japan since 2002:

"To join this success, eBay set up its Japanese auction site in 2001. However, having come just a couple of years too late, the eBay Japan website couldn’t overtake Yahoo! to dominate the Japanese online auction market. As such, they had to stop their auctions in 2002, followed by a full close shortly afterward." [source: jauce.com]

I checked Yahoo! Japan auctions, and the Citizen Parashock I referenced above doesn't appear there. And, as mentioned, I've seen several instances of these multiple identical listings just in watches and cameras. I don't think it's arbitrage.
