I'm super picky about my GMTs (need good WR, wearability, and 'true' hour hand adjustability), but my IWC Spitfire UTC has been awesome:

Meets most of your criteria, except for the WR which is 60 meters. I've swam and showered with mine, as it has a screwdown crown, and no issues. This one's long discontinued, but the new UTC in bronze follows the same footprint.

I worry about the date function problem with the Tudor. Not sure I want to enter that Lottery.

This is my main worry about BB GMT and the reason I haven't try to buy one yet.

I've worn mine quite a lot over the last couple of weeks and so far at least there has been no issues.

I'd also recommend the Tudor Pepsi GMT for just a little above the OP's price limit. In July I picked up a 3 month old Tudor GMT here on the forum for about the price I would pay at the AD before tax, without the 3-4 month wait. Like $3600 before shipping?

I saved a couple hundred bucks with no delayed gratification, didn't have to drive 180 miles round trip to pick it up, and it runs like a quartz watch. On the wrist by day and on winder by night it gained 0.1 seconds over a 13 day period last month (over the course of the 13 days it was averaging anywhere between +1.5 sec/day and -1.5 sec/day but never drifted more than 1 second away from atomic time in either direction within a 12 hour period).

I did cheat and added a bracelet the next month.

My watchmaker said this problem was a fluke, but I bought a Hamilton GMT about 4 years ago and it broke within the first month while trying to set the travel times to be different from local time. New watch went back to Hamilton service, and after 4 weeks I asked for a refund since I still had no watch. But it was pretty cool for the 1st 3 weeks. The price was great, and maybe the bad one was a one time thing.

Might not be worth stretching your budget for this one, but if you can swing it you could use this for your only watch (well, Tudor too). This Rolex has averaged +0.5 sec/day for the past 5 days, with almost no variation in the average daily rate.

I really appreciate how Tudor and Rolex bring that GMT hand all the way out. Really improves legibility and ease of use. Hate a short stick.

Good pickup. But I can actually pick out the 24hr hand on the Tudor a bit better than the Rolex, because it's not on the same ring/line as the hour markers like on the Rolex.

Sometimes I have to scan the whole ring of hour markers all the way around the Rolex dial before I spot the 24hr hand, especially in the dark because it's right on top of the hour markers.

(edit for typos)

Perhaps, and perhaps not. The guy with the most posts gets your admiration? This is why I limit my activity on forums. The guy you so admire comes in with a deuschy comment about machismo and irrational thought being the basis of my requirements and the forum groupies lap up the derailment of what was a pretty interesting thread. Par for the course. I have yet to read a thread on the popular watch forums where some swinging Richard doesn't chime in just to hear himself talk. As for 7K posts, I say get a life. Unless this is your business that is a sad commentary indeed, and just short of the guy who is sitting in his room wearing a bathrobe waiting for his mother to call him to dinner while he gets in #7001. Later.

I was curious what the OP decided, and didn't see any more posts. Searched, and see that someone chased the OP away 2 weeks ago. This looks like a Sayonara post, yet thread blindly goes on...

The rider fell off the horse, and nobody noticed. If this was a movie you'd all be like, "OP? We don't need no stinking OP." [name the movie].

Scrolled through the thread and did not see a single pic of one of these, apologies if it misses some of the criteria

I had a Great White for a while, and it was good looking, but not as nice as the Polar Explorer II that I had at the same time. So I traded it.

I’ve had two and sold them both, but this thread and searching for the picture has got me thinking it might be time for number 3

The Great White is cool and the Polar Explorer II is fantastic, but the regular 50th GMT isn't too bad - especially considering that you can pick one up for under $2K. I just tossed mine on a nato, and I'm enjoying how sporty it looks.

Hello,

My daily driver is a Speedmaster and that is not likely to change anytime soon. However, in an effort to get down to a nice two watch collection I am looking for suggestion regarding a GMT that I can use as a second / travel watch. It can be modern or vintage (since vintage these days seems to be 10 or more years old). Here is what I am looking for:

Time / GMT (jumping hour hand)
41mm or smaller
Dressy / Sports
At least 150m WR
Pre-owned is fine
Less than $3000 USD

All suggestions welcome, but tell me why. Thanks!

Tudor GMT for sure! a used one you can get easily for 3k$. It is very nice and a solid watch, and on the market it is very easily to re-sell if you want to change. 😜

Well, in any case, it is an interesting thread and it points out that as someone may have said before, there is a void in the availability of quality GMT/UTC watches that sell for under $3000. When I read through the OP's criteria I and try to do a little research on the issue I can immediately see that it is a tough ask. I am definitely interested in seeing what people come up with.

I really liked the Tudor GMT in photos and bought one, but in the flesh I found it too bulky so flipped it. I don’t dislike the BB’s, I have a Bucherer and a Bronze. BTW I flipped a Harrods as in the flesh I couldn’t bond with it.
